Just now (midnight our time) we stopped work on the Xpress version. You can check the online demo at:

www.demo.qualityunit.com/pax4/

best viewed in Firefox 3, Opera 9.5 or IE 7 (in this order)

First of all, I would like to let you know that this is not a final version, but a Release candidate.

What does it mean?

PAX is in a stable state, all the main functionality is working, but there are some known issues that have to be fixed or finished. They are mostly related to user interface.

Why is that?

Last week we worked really hard, for 10-12 hours a day, some of us even more. Until the final day I believed we'll make it, but the last day testing brought too many small issues that simply have to be made in a better way.

I apologize to everybody who feels disappointed, but we all really did our best.

We are going to fix all the issues during the next working week and PAX will be released next Monday, which means on 8th September.

I'm confident we'll make it, and this date will be not postponed. After all, the system is finished, we just want to make the final improvements.

Anyway, you have a chance to see the demo, and play with the system.

We'll be updating the demo almost every day to show you what we are working on.

You are welcome to give us your opinion or ideas, I hope they will be positive :-)

best regards,
Mark

Hi, I just checked every button in Affiliate Panel and Merchant account. Excellent development is made in creation of this superb affiliate system. I thank everyone in your team who took great efforts to make this affiliate system successful. I have seen some minor errors while watching the panels but hey as you have said it, it cleared by next week, I am waiting for the same. Kindly let us know when this product will be available for download. All the best! Rahul Dhongadi

Very cool new feauters! You even implemented my suggested feature (ability to choose between HTML and XHTML banner code)!

In the XHTML banner codes there is a little error. In XHTML you should place a space before the closing bracket. Correct: Wrong: And it is a good practice to get rid of the border around img element in a link, so image banner codes should look like this (add the style="border:0" parameter): And in the {$impression_track} code, please don't use BORDER=0, use style="border:0" instead.

Multilingual support will be part of system from first release ! You will be able to translate PAX in any csv editor or directly inside application (this UI will be finished this week - therefore you can't see translation form) In current demo is e.g. visible how you can export and import languages. In later versions we will introduce also option to send translations to Quality Unit or download other languages from Quality Unit, so users of PAX will be able to share translations together We plan still to improve features of our new framework so customers of PAX can wait much new features (not just in Affiliate system features)

Hi, here is my comment after playing with PAX, i found the desktop style is nice to have. or i should say is COOL... But in term of navigation, i found that the number of click increased compare to any other system. Let's take an example Prev/Other system to view report - we just click the link under report "view XXX report"? PAX view report - click on start > click report > then select your report So, i hope developers reconsider, balance the presentation of information and fancy effect (desktop style). I found some of my window covered by other window. Well, it's my personal perspective. When we come to PAN, i am afraid merchants may found difficulty in using the system. Coz what they need, is the simplest way to view graph, accuracy report :D Hope this help

Hello Weilies, If merchant will like to have single window mode (and not fancy multi window mode), he can just switch his layout in menu "Panel Settings" to classic theme. Disadvantage of classic mode is, that you can't insert gadgets to desktop or have more windows opened in same time. In multi window/desktop mode you can use quick lunch on the bottom of window to speedup navigation. To add new link to quick launch you can just drag and drop icon from window to quick launch.

I am weired: Can´t find anywhere the campaign-management. Where can I define the commissions, the Payout-Levels and so on, where is the campaign-management? Best wishes, Julian!

Hello Julian, the campaigns management is the first menu item in the start button menu :-) I'd like to announce that PAX will support also lifetime commissins as per Julian's request. Description: The goal is to track sales lifetime. Even if the custommer deletes his cookies and doesn´t come from the affiliates-page. After one sale is done, it should be possible to track him permanently. The identifier should be the eMail. How will it work? You as a merchant have to pass some customer unique identifier to PAX during sale tracking. Normally it would be email. During the first tracked referral, customer's email will be stored to the database with information which affiliate referred him. Next time, if the same customer makes a purchase, PAX will find the affiliate in database and assign him the commissions. If no affiliate is found, it works in the standard way. This functionality will be made as an optional plugin (for free).

I am VERY impressed with this release candidate! Far beyond what I would have expected for an 'express' version. One thing that I'd like to see added (and you may already be planning this for PAP4) is the ability to send multi-part emails which include both HTML and text. HTML is cool, but not everyone uses an HTML email client. I'm once again excited about the future of PAP!

Hi, I tested the "blue aero" theme. I must say it's very cute but not very practical for every day use. Has the feeling of "slow" to the user. Don't get me wrong, this is the one I'll use cause it's much more easy for the end user to understand. But it gives the impression of "slow", for example when clicking to close windows and so on. Also some screens need modification, ie make them more user friendly (let user find the information easily). For example grids that perform no action or the action button is on top only. It may seem strange at first to users. What DEFINATELY needs improvement is the GET BANNER CODE page. There should be a way to distinguish one banner block from another. Right now there's no space between 2 banners. Please at least add some space or a thick bar or so to separate one banner from the next one. Or you can make them collapsable or have some sort of indication at the left side on each banner row. I hope you can make it until Monday. Looks very promising. What's the cost? Purchase or upgrade? Thanks :-)

Can the sub-id tracking be dynamic? In other words can I add to the banner url whatever sub-id I like dynamically? I need to be able to track my users sales/leads/clicks.. So the subid I would need to add to the URL could be any number from 1 to 1,000,000 ? Is this possible?

Ignore that question... Just seen this in Advanced Functionality in the demo "For additional tracking, you can append up to two custom parameters data1 and data2 to the link URL." Which is just what I need... Ta.

Hello, regarding development docs (for API and plugins) - it will take a while, because we are still working on documenting the "standard" functionality. I believe I'll be able to publish at least some very basics next week after the release.

Hi-PAP4 seems very ambitious, here is some honest feedback... *Sorry, but is very slow, I tried in Opera9, Firefox, and IE7. It would not even run in IE and caused my browser to crash. It's not reasonable to force a browser upgrade for affiliates, it needs to work in all browsers. I took a look at the HTML source, and it seems like a lot of data is getting downloaded as javascript array with every page... *Flash reports are sloooooooooooooooooow *Merchant reports seem not as flexible/easy-to-use as PAP3 I was not able to try out any of the new features, due to the slowness of the app.

Uh ... that is right. Even in Pap3 I hated it, when I didn´t need the Flash-Charts but they loadet constantly. Possible an Option like "only load flash-charts on klick" or something like that? So the affiliate can choose, not to load the flash-charts, he just get´s a grafic and when he klicks on it the flash-chart loads? Best wishes, Julian!

> Possible an Option like “only load flash-charts on klick” or something > like that? So the affiliate can choose, not to load the flash-charts, he > just get´s a grafic and when he klicks on it the flash-chart loads? Sorry my bad english. What I meant was: The user should be able to choose his "default-view" or when he can´t then the first view should be a "quick and simple" one. It is not the best way to force each user to watch all "slow-loading" Statistics every time before he can change them, like it was in pap3. Best wishes, Julian!

Yes, in PAX4 will be application opened in last state, so if you will close reports and you will not want to see them periodically, it will not be loaded on startup.

To all who reported, that PAX demo is slow we can promise, that we are working also on tuning of speed. Also a lot of tuning we plan to do after users will start to use it. We will be happy, when users will report what is slow for them and we will try to improve it. e.g. this week developers worked on improvement of speed of moving windows. Later we plan to optimize speed of database by adding some indexes. PAX is new product based on new framework, but within 2-3 months we believe it will be best Affiliate Software on market.

Actually, in 2-3 months, PAP4 should be released, and will theoretically be better than PAX, wouldn't it?

One thing I'm missing in the reports is any data related to sales conversions, such as sales per click or commissions per click. These are the 2 most important numbers in determining how well the website is doing, and can also provide information on how well each affiliate is "pre-selling", as different promotions will result in different sales conversions. I'm also having trouble with the various 'gadgets' in the side panel. After adding one (traffic stats) it doesn't show up, although a message comes up that the gadget was added. BTW - is there a better place to report issues with the release candidate?

I only have 3 thing to said, 1.) is it maintain ALL PAP Features and add more extra features? 2.) what is the other extra features? 3.) I feel a bit slow on that dekstop part and some of the feature i cant see from my screen, error message something about "timeout". I hope can come out 2 version, another one will be not that heavy scripts. Because have to consider some computers or country network, not that powerfull/Fast enough. I hope administrator can consider this part. Overall it is very cool, keep it up man. thanks

SIXTH REQUEST FOR HELP!!!!!!!!! This is our 6th time to ask for help with PAP... Specifically, we need instructions on how to use the Site Replication, because the User Manual does NOT provide support for that feature. PLEASE HELP!!!

Theresa, this is not the place for support requests. If you would do a search on the forums, you will find a reference to this page http://support.qualityunit.com/knowledgebase/post-affiliate-pro/manual/features/site-replication.html which describes the site replication feature in PAP3. In the future, you'll get best results from using the Support option on the site (just click 'Support' at the top of many of the pages here), slightly less reliable results from the forums, and the least reliable results from the blog, which is not intended to be a support vehicle.
