We have just released Post Affiliate Pro 4 Beta. All existing Post Affiliate Pro customers can download it from our new members area:

members.qualityunit.com

(use same username/password as in old members area)

This version contains almost all features that the final version will have. We are still working on Recurring commissions, Performance rewards and per Action commission types.

We have released this Beta version as some of you requested it and wanted to test the new version of Post Affiliate Pro. We will be happy to hear from you what you think about it.

Woo hoo! I've been checking every day for this. I'm going to start testing tonight! I see two entries for the download. 4.0.4.6 and 4.0.4.8beta. If the product isn't finished yet, what is the older version, 4.0.4.6? An older beta version? I will be back with updates on my findings.

4.0.4.6 is quite stable Post Affiliate Xpress (Xpress = without Pro features) You are welcome to test it, don't forget to send us any feedback so we can improve it. We plan to release new build every 3-4 days until it will be marked stable.

Thanks for the note about pax. I didn't realize there was a pax prefix on that file instead of pap. I've installed the beta version of pap4 and played around with the general configurations and everything like that (not actually put it to use to see how well it tracks and things like that, but made adjustments in the panel). Overall, it was a pretty smooth process and worked quite well. The installation was quick and simple, although it did not have any method for converting from a previous pap install, pap3 for example. I imagine this is something QU is still working on. This will be one of the major features (I think) for PAP3 owners, so we can easily bring in data and affiliate information from our current installs. Once installed, everything loaded fine and worked like the demo online at QU from what I could tell. There are a few things that I searched for and could not find - perhaps it would be described in some good documentation if the feature is available, or perhaps the feature is not included / currently being worked on by QU. 1) The basic affiliate panel is plain (compared to merchant panel) - affiliates can easily add gadgets to fill it out and change the background and things like that (I was using 'aero' theme). First, I think the application specific gadget should be automatic for the affiliate panel - unless the affiliate removes it. The merchant panel had all 5 gadgets preloaded, while the affiliate had to load up their gadget before having access. It'd be nice to have it there from the start to let the affiliates know that something goes in that gray box on the right. Furthermore, I was unable to find out if it is possible to add links to the dock on the bottom of the Aero theme. The merchant panel has icons on that dock for most major sections of the merchant panel (campaigns, tracking, etc). However, the affiliate panel just had 'show desktop'. I could not figure out how to add additional icons for traffic and sales, banners, etc. to that bottom dock. 2) I could not find features for performance based comissions such as in PAP3. For example, if an affiliate makes 20 sales a month, their comission is raised from 35% to 45% or something similar. I use these frequently in PAP3, but could not find them in this beta version. I did find commission groups, but I could not find any features for updating commissions automatically based on performance each month. 3) This may be another thing that would be answered in some good documentation - do we leave the install directory in place after we finish an install? I thought about deleting it, but then when I went to look for the themes directories and things like that in hopes of finding out how to customize themes, I could only find them in the install directory. So I left it for now. Those were the two main 'feature' wise things I was looking for. A couple minor notes... 4) In the merchant panel, when I clicked 'create commission', it opened in a smaller window (Aero theme still) where I had to manually adjust the window each time I opened it to view everything, or have to scroll right. It could easily open into a window twice as wide and avoid that altogether. All other windows opened fine. There are references to pax in various places - not sure if these will be updated to PAP4 references or not once the stable version is out. Not a big deal. Finally, there are some general spelling typos and things like that - many will be replaced when the merchant sets up the new email templates and things like that, but one under add gadgets reads 'Finnance' (two n's) for a category. This isn't something I would know how to fix really easily. Most of these notes are just small picky issues that will not affect the software in the least little bit. Other than these, I did not see any issues from configurations / setting things up, and I saw a lot of features that I liked a lot. The new affiliate page that has FAQ, signup, etc all looks really nice. Most of these issues may be available and I just couldn't find them yet or QU may be working on them as I type this.

Thanks for your feedback Russell. 1. We will add application specific Gadgets to default look of affiliate panel and also some predefined icons to QuickLaunch. You can add icons to QuickLaunch by simply dragging icon from page header to the QuickLaunch so you can fully customize QuickLaunch. 2. Performance rewards will be part of PAP4. It's one of the features that need to be developed before release of non Beta version. 3. Install directory can not be deleted. You will need to run it after each update of system. After the installation Installer changes to Updater. Most of the templates can be edited through Merchant Panel. Others can be found in accounts/default1/themes/ directory 4. We are still tweaking system, so this minor issues should be disappearing with each new version.

Can we see screen shots on the new interface? I didn't buy PAP3 because I didn't feel the interface was as professional as JROX.

We are working on a page for new PAP4. Till then you can check page of Post Affiliate Xpress (http://www.qualityunit.com/postaffiliatexpress/). There is also demo on that page. Post Affiliate Xpress and Post Affiliate Pro 4 are built on same basis ad will have same look. Only diference is, that Pro version will have more features than Xpress.

Wow! The look&feel is great. I am really impressed. Good Work. Didn't test the functionality by now. One typo: Somewhere in the installation process it says "PAX" instead of"PAP".

Hi there, I am really impressed. Good Work. I did some tests with 4.0.4.8beta and have some question: 1. I couldn't find an way to setup an "sign up commission" for a campaign. 2. There is a problem if you select to many menu item in customize the menu and content for affiliate (aero theme) the affiliate can't see all menu items on the left side panel and the panel can't scroll to see the hidden item. 3. Affiliate Password reset. I couldn't find out how I have to setup the link in the system email which send to the affiliate for his password reset request. May be I did something wrong. I think these are not really big problems It's a great software Uwe

Hi Uwe, 1. Sign up commission is not implemented yet. You can suggest it as a feature on our addons web (http://addons.qualityunit.com/suggestions) 2. We will fix it. 3. Link to password reset can be added to email template using constant {$newPasswordUrl}. It is also present in constants list.

I'm wondering. The Beta version that's currently listed in the member's area is showing the exact same version number as when I first downloaded the beta a week ago. At what point will a new beta (or final) version be available to test?

Hi - Ive installed the beta. Im wondering if I put time into customising it, setting up email templates, adding affiliates, notifications, cookies, etc - will I be able to keep all this info when I install the final release version in a few days time? ;-) Or should I just use the beta to learn the functionality and test out bugs and wait till the release version is installed before customising? I would really like to begin adding affiliates as I have about 200 to do by hand myself. Will I at least be able to export the affiliates data and then import it to the final release? Thanks Dan V

Dan - when PAP4 is completed, there will be a script to upgrade from PAP3, so no manual work will be necessary. If your current affiliates are managed using different software, I'm sure there will be an import feature to bring them into PAP4. An export from the beta shows the format of CSV data PAP4 will most likely expect from an import file. You can use that as a guide to setting up a file to import when PAP4 is finalized.

PAP4 Beta looks good guys. Nicely done. When can we expect to move from Beta to a release candidate? Before I start testing the system in full I'd like to know that the initial bugs have been worked out. Also, will need an upgrade script from PAP3. Any time frame estimations?

Was wondering how this was coming along? Is it near Release yet? are we looking at this month or next?
