The new page for PAP4 looks very good. And I have to say that your pricing structure looks like a winner as well. I have to say that I am very excitedly waiting for the final release version to be available. SubID tracking will be one of the first new features to be put to work on my site. Although I am also curious about various release dates (API specs, documentation, final version, network version, etc.), I feel good knowing that your team is working on getting it all finalized as quickly as possible.

Is there a release-date for the migration-script? Best wishes, Julian!

Hi Julian, Release date is not defined yet, but we are working already on it, so it will be out within month or so. We need to solve first problem with import of a tons of data (millions of rows) on hostings, where is not possible to use command line scripts and short time limits blocks import (e.g. after 30 seconds).

Hi Viktor, uh ... a month is a lot. So another question: Have you had a look at the import-functions? They didn´t work. I originally said that it is better to focus on the migration-script, but when this needs one more month, I would prefear to simply import all the data (Transactions, Affiliates and campaigns). A few days ago I had a look at the tables, but it seems like they are setup totally different then in pap3, much more relatives, so I can´t do it totally manually. Best wishes, Ju lian!

What happened to "PAP4 will be released on October 31st"? If it's not ready to migrate users from PAP3, then it's not ready. Another month (or so) is, as Julian says, a LOT of extra time. I can understand another week or two, but not much more than that when you promised October 31st. Actually, the original promise was mid-2007, but we won't go there. Once again, here is another example of making promises you can't keep. Your customers need to know they can trust you. Things like this erode that trust. Will there be another beta for testing? I'm waiting until most of the bugs from the first beta have been resolved before doing another round of testing, at which point I'll be able to provide more feedback. If the beta stage is going to last more than a couple of weeks, then a weekly beta would be good. And an idea for your time issue -- do the conversion in stages. Find out how many rows of data you can convert in 25 seconds (to give some buffer to the 30 second limit) and do that many at a time. All you need is to store your progress in the database, and retrieve your "pointer" with each click of a "resume" button. Many hosts allow for the max_execution_time to be set within the program or within .htaccess, and if this works, you can go for broke. I don't know if there's a test to check if setting that variable was successful or not, but if so, that may help.

Hi AlanT, we do the migration script so it can be interrupted by max_execution_time exactly as you describe it. But doing it this way is little more difficult than normal solution. Last release of Beta was done on Friday. Currently 4.0.4.13 version is available.

Doesn´t reall answer my question. It´s pretty easy: I want to upgrade to pap4 as soon as possible. Let me keep the question really simple: Which DAten can you DEFINITELY say that I will be able to make the upgrade? I can do it in bouth ways: - Use the migration script - Use the export/import-functions Bouth are not ready yet. One of bouth is enough of me. And I JUST want to know, when I can definitely count on using PAP4. Best wishes, Julian!

Hi, I'm thinking of buying PAP4 Pro. But, is it a wise thing to do because I get the impression that PAP4 is not stable (yet). I have tried out some things in the online demo version and I have experience some several errors. Anyone? Regards, Daniel.

Besides: 6 months of free updates isn't a long time for I guess a beta version: "Owned license: One time fee, free 6 months of updates and support, starting from the date of purchase"

It´s middle of November now and it´s getting frustrating again. No Information about the migration-script, no answers to the questions, no release-date, no chance to get any realistic planning done. What is happening? Best wishes, J ulian!

In general we don't want to publish any official dates anymore, but internally we spoke about 27th November 2008 Also in the future we plan to release new versions just after it will be 100% ready and not because we planned any deadline.

Hi Victor, I totally agree on that. But I would suggest one of the two ways: 1. Publish a deadline, that is safe. If the software comes earlier, this is okay. But it would be nice to have a date, where I can definitely count on the software. For PAP4 for example if you would have published "January 09" then the early PAX and things like that would have been great. By publishing a "too short" deadline the releases where frustrating again and again. 2. If you don´t publish a deadline then it would be nice to see a roadmap. So every user could make his own picture of what is happening. Best wishes, Julian!
