What languages do you consider to be done at this point? What languages are you most interested in? While PAP may be considered to have an English language interface, there are several areas where the English is rough and could be improved.

Hi Alan, If you are interested, we can give you one license also for fine tuning of English translation. We are not native speakers and therefore each improvement will help us. In general we want to have as much as possible language translations. Minimum languages like French, German, Spanish, Chinese, etc. In the future we will change strategy of translations and we will implement function in PAP, which will allow users to share translations on addons.qualityunit.com In application we will add option to upload translation to server. On server will be listed all approved translations and user can choose which he would like to import. First we want to have at least basic set of languages, which we will donate with some licenses.

Maybe I can offer some help here, but after the Christmas season. One idea... in my opinion the translations of different parts of the program should be separate. For example, someone might prefer that the admin / merchant side of the program should be untouchable, but the affiliate -panel should be in different languages etc... what ever mix. I'm not a programmer, but I believe this functionality could get archived just separating one language file to different language files based on the section of the program? ...or... if one file, then at least in clear sections to different part of the program. My history with PAP comes from the early days but I've not taken a look at the language files for ages. So maybe this is already implemented. My 2 centimos from Sunny Spain

It is not possible to separate it 100% (merchant and affiliate), because they both use same translations on a lot of places. In translation form you can see, which translation is related to affiliate, which to merchant and which to both panels (in translation grid you need to edit default view and add some columns)

What about a new application on the website, which does exactly that: Translations. Like an excel-List on the website, where I see the english word in the left column, and each other langague besides that with the translation. When I speak for example german, I can type in the words I need and save them. When I click on "download" I get an actual language-file with the translation which is Online. Well ... I didn´t describe it well, but I guess you know, what I mean. ;-) Best wishes, Julian!

Basic idea is, that directly in each application will be option to share translation with us. Everyone, who will translate any new language or will update existing translation will have option to upload his language to our server. Also directly in application will be accessible option to import language from our website. But until now we didn't finalized the idea. e.g. we don't know how to approve if translation uploaded by user is good or bad ... we don't have native speakers of so much languages :-( The best will be if from each translation uploaded by customers will be taken just new translated words and existing translations will not be taken ... existing translations will be able to update just some persons .... but I don't know if this is a good way for sharing languages between community members

Well ... if you like to put a little bit work in it what about extending the online-application. Each phrase will be shown in original (english) and in the desired language translated. If there is no word yet, the field is empty. On every (!) state a user can insert a new word. When there is at least one translation there is a "confirm"-button beside each word. So when the translation is right, the user can klick on "confirm" and the word is confirmed. So the user will see all words and can take the one word that for his opinion fits best. The rest is an algorythm: When there are five confirmations, then the word should be "proved". If any time another word will get "higher", it will be "re-proven" again. Anyway, if a word has one translation and five confirmations, it should be marked as "save" an not checked anymore. And if you like to do some more work, then you could integrate that in the framework and use it for all of your softwares. What about the following: The Admin can define one user-account as the "translations-account". When he logs in with this account, he will have a little popup-link beside each (!) phrase. When he klicks on that, he will get to exactly the above described site, best as a popup. There he can put in his new phrase, he can prove the other phrases. His actions always count for the language that is set in the account as the "active" language. This whould have the benefit, that every (!) merachant can start to rework the translations while being in the program itself. So he always has the context of the phrase. This for my opinion is one of the biggest challenges in translating the software: I have a single phrase in the language-file, but I have no clue about the context. This makes the translations a little ambiguous sometimes. Having it in the frontend itself, this problem is solved. And also the challenge of needing an FTP-Client, opening the language-file and so on. So with a functionality like that it could get very easy and very quick for all users to ingetrage new languages with less effort. A bonus you can also integrage: New languages can be downloadet in the backend. So I can mark directly, which languages I need, and they will be present. Without downloading a language-file and uploading it in my installation manually. Best wishes, Julian!

yes, this is next option, that we will directly in application offer option to automatically save translation also to our server. If e.g. 2 translations will be same, we will mark it as approved. List of translations will be loaded from our server and maybe also could be updated from our server just with one click of merchant.

Yes, that sounds good. By the way, if you have the ressources then think about that idea: When you offer a framework for language-files, which can do that for programmers, it would be a cool new software. The programmers insert just the variable for the phrase (what most of the multilingual software do anyway), and they can use your framework as an add-in for php or something like that. I am not fluent in coding. It is just the idea, that lots of softwares have the problem of different translations, and if you do it for your software, it could be worth to think for a moment about making it that general, that other coders can use it also. Best wishes, Julian!

My understanding of your needs for PAP4 is for functional (form fileds, description, buttons...) localization. I would suggest you take a look at how DotNetNuke (open source CMS framework based on .Net) is handling Localization. It stills rough in handling dynamic content localization but its powerful and very flexible for static strings. Good luck.

Hi, I might be interested to translate in French. But what is the delay between the time I give you my translation and the time I get my licence ? How long does it usually take you to test it? Just wondering because I need my version soon and I can translate pretty fast (I teach French litterature at college and have done multiple translations for other websites). Thanks.
